The General Directorate of Urban Planning of the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change issued clarifications regarding the approval of building permits for the provision of electricity to construction sites.

The clarifications state the following:

Subject: Review of building permits for the provision of construction site services.

Ref.: Document no. 3037/6-7-2015 of DEDDIE S.A. (ref. no. DAOKA 29894/6-7-2015)

In response to the above document and many similar questions from Building Authorities regarding the approval of building permits for the provision of construction site services, we would like to inform you of the following:

  • For building permits issued under Law 4030/11 (New procedure for issuing building permits, construction inspections, and other provisions), the initial approval of the Building Permit for the provision of construction site services will be granted at the same time as its issuance, and the duration of the construction site supply will be the same as the duration of the Building Permit, as provided for in paragraph 9 of Article 2 of Joint Ministerial Decision 7533/Government Gazette 251 B/13-02-2012.
If the Building Permit is extended for a specific period of time, the construction site supply shall be extended for the corresponding period, following the relevant approval of the Building Permit by the competent YDOM.
  • For permits issued on the basis of the Presidential Decree of 13-07-1993 (Government Gazette 795 D/1993), the initial approval of the Building Permit for the provision of construction site services is automatically extended for the entire duration of the Building Permit (as amended by the provisions of paragraph 5 of Article 29 of Law 4067/12 and paragraph 3 of Article 11 of Law 4258/14), without further action by the Building Authorities. Consequently, in order to extend the validity period of the construction site connection, the interested party shall submit a relevant request to DEDDIE S.A., accompanied only by a solemn declaration by the engineer in charge of general supervision, stating the expiry date of the Building Permit based on the provisions in force and the construction site supply.
In the event that the building permit is extended beyond the aforementioned time, the provisions of Circular 61/85 shall apply.

We kindly request that the above be implemented in order to avoid unnecessary inconvenience and burden on services and citizens.
