Distances between certain types of shops and schools, etc.

1. According to Article 3 of Presidential Decree 180/79, as currently in force, the Municipal Authority may refuse to grant a license to operate entertainment centers, bars, cafes, refreshment rooms, pizzerias, snack bars, technical games halls, and, in general, establishments where alcoholic beverages are mainly offered for immediate consumption on the premises, if the establishment is located less than 50 meters, measured in a straight line, from temples, schools, clinics, hospitals, tutoring centers, barracks, daycare centers, kindergartens, orphanages, libraries, conservatories, sports facilities, and various other schools.

2. According to Article 1 of No. 1125278/ 1435/97 and E.F.K.Y. Decision of the Ministers of the Interior, Public Administration and Decentralization, and Finance, a necessary condition for the granting of a license to operate recreational technical games is among other things, is that the main entrance and exit of the establishment must be located at a distance of more than fifty (50) meters from the main entrance of primary and secondary schools.

If there is a courtyard, the distance is measured from the entrance or exit of the school courtyard.
