Completed and put into productive operation from October 7, on a special website of the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change (http://dp.ypeka.gr/) the electronic service for posting and publication of Acts Characterizing Forest Areas and the Topographical Diagrams that accompany them , as well as also and the decisions of the Committees for the Resolution of Forestry Disputes (E.E.D.A.).

In his statements, the Minister of Environment, Energy, and Climate Change, Yannis Maniatis, pointed out:

“The new electronic service we are launching at the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change is an example of best practice in public administration, while its implementation sets a standard of interoperability for other Greek public services.

We now give anyone who’s interested direct, full, detailed, and unhindered access to and knowledge of decisions on Characterization Acts and decisions by the Forest Dispute Resolution Committees.

We are laying solid foundations to break the shackles of electronic bureaucracy through the interoperability of public administration systems.

An important factor is that this pioneering initiative for Greece did not cost the state or Greek citizens a single cent. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Information Systems Services of both the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change and the Ministry of Administrative Reform and e-Governance, which worked closely together to implement this application.

The timeless demand of society for a different public sector, meritocratic, flexible, effective, modern and friendly towards the citizen, is a challenge that we win every day.”

It should be noted that the posting and publication process has been designed in such a way that, through a secure environment, certified users—employees of the country’s Forestry Services—can post the acts without having to type in the identity details of the Administrative Act of Characterization or enter the Decision file. This information is already registered in DIAVGEIA and is automatically retrieved from the information system, while the user is asked to follow a simple and user-friendly procedure to enter only the Topographical Diagram of the Act.

The reduction of “electronic bureaucracy and the saving of time work with the rationalization of the process of posting, contribute the maximum so that the YPEKA can offer a21> to the Forestry Services of the country and to citizens a modern, reliable and valid operational electronic service.
