Inclusion of unauthorized structures that do not form a complete load-bearing structure

The Deputy Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, Mr. Tagaras, signed a decision allowing for the inclusion of unauthorized works and unauthorized constructions, which do not form a complete load-bearing structure, in the provisions for the suspension of penalties under Article 8 of Law 4178/13 “Addressing Unauthorized Construction – Environmental Balance and other provisions”

More specifically, the text of the decision states:

” We decide to approve the possibility of applying the provisions for the suspension of penalties under Law 4178/13 to unauthorized constructions and unauthorized building works that do not result in the creation of a complete load-bearing structure, solely and exclusively in order to ensure the suspension of penalties, given that this does not constitute legalization of the unauthorized structures and, therefore, does not preclude the possibility of their removal for the restoration of the environment and legality in general.”
