IKA debts for unauthorized buildings that are being regularized are being written off

A circular provides for the suspension or even complete write-off of fines for social security contributions to the Social Security Fund (IKA) for those who built illegally and legalize their buildings for 30 years by paying a fine for illegal construction in up to 102 installments.
In a circular, the Foundation states that, upon request, debts owed to the Social Security Fund (IKA) corresponding to unpaid “building stamps” as well as fines and surcharges for thousands of unauthorized buildings that were legalized by the 2013 law will be written off, provided that the fines for urban planning violations have been paid.
According to the new IKA circular, those who are subject to or will be subject to the provisions of Law 4178/2013 and owe contributions to IKA from the construction of unauthorized buildings or the change of use they made until July 28, 2011, in existing buildings, can achieve the complete write-off of the unpaid amounts that have been certified against them, provided that they submit a relevant application to the competent branch in their area.
This procedure requires: • Application by the interested party. Evidence of compliance with the above laws.• Confirmed and unpaid contributions to unknown parties must have been suspended.• A report must have been drawn up by a competent official showing that the confirmed debts relate to the same project.• There must be evidence of full payment of the special urban planning fine.• A decision must be issued by the Director to write off unpaid amounts.
It should also be noted that upon presentation of the legalization permit or its dispatch by the town planning department, each case will remain pending.
IKA does not proceed with the write-off of contributions that have been charged and paid, nor does it refund contributions to employers for this reason.
