Extension of the settlement of unauthorized buildings for 4 months, based on Law 4178/2013

As reported by ERT on Wednesday, October 5, in its midday news bulletin, a four-month extension has been granted for the regularization of unauthorized buildings, as defined in the current Law 4178/2013.
According to ERT’s report, the four-month extension will be granted so that the TEE’s electronic platform can be modified to meet the requirements and provisions of the new law under consultation.
Essentially, because it will take time for the electronic system of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) – which accepts declarations of regularization of unauthorized buildings – to adapt to the requirements of the new law, and for engineers and citizens to be informed about the new regulations, it was deemed appropriate to grant an extension until February 8, 2017, so that owners of unauthorized buildings who wish to declare their properties can take the necessary steps.
This gives owners of unauthorized buildings the opportunity to choose which law they will use to regularize their properties. According to reports, if the adjustment of the TEE’s electronic system is completed more quickly, then the extension period may be reduced.
