From February 24, applications and files will be submitted electronically, and building permits will be issued and revised in accordance with a Joint Ministerial Decision signed by the competent ministers of Administrative Reform, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Interior Argyris Dinopoulos, and Environment Yannis Maniatis.

The joint ministerial decision stipulates that, from the end of February, as part of efforts to reduce bureaucracy, tackle corruption, and improve services to citizens, engineers and employees of the competent services will carry out the process of submitting, approving, and filing applications for building permits electronically.

According to the proposed Joint Ministerial Decision, the electronic issuance of permits includes: building permit applications, building permit requests, and revisions of building permits and approvals. “The reduction of bureaucracy is not linked to political developments and election cycles. To the reforms of the last 18 months, we are now adding the replacement of paper in the issuance of building permits with a modern information system,” said Minister of Administrative Reform Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
