The Building Permit is accompanied by the studies of the authorized Engineer, which have been carried out in accordance with the provisions of the New Building Regulations (Article 1 of Law 4030/2011 and Article 4 of Law 4067/2012).
The file containing the approved studies by the competent authorities, such as archaeology, municipality, etc., is submitted electronically through the e-adeies service. The competent Building Authority examines your permit plans to ensure that there are no irregularities and that they comply with the New Building Regulations, local Building Zone Regulations, and other applicable laws. Following this process, the Building Permit is approved. Work can begin with the pre-approval for the issuance of the Permit, depending on the category to which it belongs (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).

The duration of the Building Permit is 4 years from the date of issue. In the case of the construction of a building or buildings with a total surface area of more than 5,000 square meters, it is valid for 6 years. It is reviewed after its expiration for the extension of its validity, upon request by the beneficiary and after an on-site inspection.
As mentioned above, in our country all structural constructions must have an approved Building Permit. In some cases, only a Small Scale Permit is required.
