Based on the provisions of Article 27 of Law 4067\/2012 &#8220;New Building Regulations,&#8221; specifically for the case of existing buildings with specific uses, as detailed in Article 26, paragraph 4 thereof, the provision of an elevator with minimum internal dimensions of 1.00 x 1.25 m, as provided for in standard ELOT: EN 81-701 for a wheelchair user, is permitted by way of exception.&#8221;    <\/p>\n<p>In the above context, the following is clarified:<\/p>\n<p>In the case of existing residences, which under the current institutional framework are not required to be adapted, when for reasons of accessibility (vertical circulation) it is necessary to install an elevator, the conditions of Article 3(3a) of the above-mentioned decision shall apply, in accordance with the provisions applicable to existing buildings under Article 24(6) of Law   4067\/12.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that the same minimum elevator dimensions apply by analogy.<br \/>\nThe construction of an elevator with the minimum internal dimensions of the cabin according to the ELOT standard: EN 81-701 for a wheelchair user is permitted in existing residential buildings that do not have an elevator (due to no relevant requirement at the time of their construction) and in the case of the addition of floors for residential use, provided that, in accordance with Article 26(1) of Law 4067\/12, autonomous and safe horizontal and vertical access for persons with disabilities or persons with reduced mobility must be ensured. <\/p>\n<p>The provisions of paragraph 2 of Article 27 of Law 4067\/12 concerning the construction of lifts or other mechanical means of overcoming differences in height and the space required to access them, by way of derogation from the provisions of the Building Regulations and the specific building conditions of the area, may also be applied when issuing a preliminary building permit or building permit for the addition of floors for residential use to existing residential buildings that do not have an elevator, due to the lack of a relevant requirement at the time of their construction, regardless of whether or not the permitted urban planning dimensions of the property have been exhausted.<\/p>\n<p>For the application of points 2 and 3 above, which concern cases of adding floors to existing residential buildings, it is clarified that the use of an elevator that complies with the ELOT: EN 81-701 is permitted, subject to any different determination of the number of elevators and their capacity by a traffic study under paragraph 1. 3 of Article 29 of the Building Regulations (Decision 3046\/304\/89, Government Gazette D&#8217; 59), which is drawn up when the population of the building exceeds 200 people.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row type=&#8221;vc_default&#8221; el_id=&#8221;eidhseis-tile&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text] Circular &#8211; Guideline on minimum internal dimensions of elevator cabins in existing residential buildings [\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row type=&#8221;vc_default&#8221; el_id=&#8221;eidhseis-img&#8221;][vc_column][vc_single_image source=&#8221;featured_image&#8221; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row type=&#8221;vc_default&#8221; el_id=&#8221;eidhseis-text&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text]Specifically, the circular notes the following: SUBJECT: Circular Directive on minimum internal dimensions of elevator cabins in existing residential buildings According to paragraph 3(a) of Article 3 of Chapter B of&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"menu_order":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-410327","texnikh_vivliothiki","type-texnikh_vivliothiki","status-publish","hentry","description-off"],"acf":[],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.cityengineering.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/texnikh_vivliothiki\/410327","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.cityengineering.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/texnikh_vivliothiki"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.cityengineering.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/texnikh_vivliothiki"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/www.cityengineering.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/texnikh_vivliothiki\/410327\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":410329,"href":"https:\/\/www.cityengineering.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/texnikh_vivliothiki\/410327\/revisions\/410329"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.cityengineering.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=410327"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
