A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE NOTIFICATION OF OPERATION OF BROTHELS
Documents required for the granting of a permit for the installation and use of a building by a person issuing a fee, in accordance with the provisions of Law 2734/1999, Joint Ministerial Decision 9946/2000, and Article 49 of Law 4238/2014.

Application by the interested party, stating their full identity details, the address of the premises where the activity will be carried out, and the full details of the lessor.

Certified photocopy of the person’s identity card or certified photocopy of their passport in the case of foreign nationals.

Certified photocopy of the professional license referred to in Article 1 of Law 2734/99.

Written consent from the owner of the building agreeing to the specific activity being carried out within it.

Written consent of all co-owners and tenants, in the case of an apartment building, unless the building regulations prohibit the specific activity.

A solemn declaration by the person holding a professional licence, pursuant to Law 1599/86, that the premises in which the specific activity will be carried out will not be used as a residence.

A certified photocopy of the title deed to the property or, in the case of a lease, a photocopy of the lease agreement and a certificate from the Town Planning Department (Directorate of Town Planning and Building -57 Sokratous Street) certifying that the building is a permanent structure, is a space for primary use, meets the conditions of the General Building Regulations, and has a separate entrance to the space where the specific activity will be carried out.

Certificate from the Public Health Directorate of the relevant Region (196 Alexandras Avenue) stating that the premises comply with the hygiene requirements in accordance with the applicable Health Regulations.

Certificate from the competent department of the Ministry of Culture (Ministry of Culture and Sports, 1 Lysios and Klepsydras Street) that the building has not been designated as traditional or preservable (Ministry of Environment, Energy, and Climate Change, 17 Amaliados Street).

Certificate from the relevant local authority (Directorate of Urban Planning and Construction – 57 Sokratous Street), that the building meets the terms and conditions of paragraph 4 of Article 3 of Law 2734/99 “on distances from churches, schools, etc.” as described in this provision or as determined by decision of the relevant municipal or community council, in accordance with this provision, including distances from three (3), four (4) and five (5) star hotels (in accordance with Article 49 of Law 4238/2014).

Certificate of commencement of business (from the competent tax office)

Three (3) recent color photographs.

Certificate from the Public Health Directorate of the relevant Region (196 Alexandras Avenue) stating that the person to whom the booklet is issued has been granted a health booklet, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 5 of Article 1 of Law 2734/99.
The license to establish and operate a brothel is granted by decision of the Mayor, following the unanimous opinion of the Committee referred to in paragraph 2 of Article 3 of Law 2734/99. is valid for two (2) years and is renewed for an equal period, under the same terms and conditions as the initial grant.
